Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. Situated on more than 200 scenic acres are more than 40 original buildings, including homes, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, bank, working farm, three water-powered mills, and trade shops. Visitors can see heritage breed farm animals and interact with authentically costumed staff. Special events take place through the year. A gift shop and bookstore are located on the premises.

The Samuel Slater Experience is a historical museum focused on textile manufacturing and the life and work of Samuel Slater (1768–1835), the founder of Webster, MA. More than twenty immersive exhibits tell the story of the American Industrial Revolution, Slater, and the town of Webster, MA, which at its creation centered on the cotton and woolen manufacturing mills which he moved into the area in 1812. The museum is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair to borrow if available. There is a gift shop on the premises.

The Worcester Art Museum is recognized for its 35,000-piece collection of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, photography, prints, drawings and new media created over the last 5 millennia. Works include those by El Greco, Monet, Rembrandt, Gauguin, van Gogh, Renoir, Cézanne, Picasso, Copley, Gilbert Stuart, Paul Revere, and Nam June Paik. Special exhibitions showcase the masterworks, seldom-seen gems, and important works on loan—including some contemporary art. Of note are the floor mosaics from the ancient city of Antioch (Syria) in the entrance, the Japanese print collection, and the “Arms and Armor” collection.
